CRIME SCENE: 27-year-old man wanted in connection with a stabbing in downtown Toronto

A suspect has been identified in the stabbing death of several people in the city center last month.

Toronto police said on September 24 at 12:54 p.m., officers responded to a stabbing at Christie and Bloor Sts. area.

Police said there was an argument between the defendant and a group of people, and the defendant “began stabbing several people in the group.”

The attacker then fled the area.

A 22-year-old man suffered non-life-threatening injuries and a 24-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries.

Police believe the weapon used was a knife.

Police released the video in hopes of identifying the suspect.

On Thursday, police said 27-year-old Tony Lin of Toronto is currently wanted for aggravated assault and two counts of aggravated assault.

The suspect is described as slim, with short dark hair, wearing black clothing, white shoes and a black bag.

OSHWA MAN Accused of historic sexual assaults

A 66-year-old Oshawa man is accused of sexual assaults that occurred over a 28-year period.

In February, Durham Regional Police began investigating alleged sexual assaults involving a minor after the alleged victim, now an adult, came to police to report a history of sexual assaults that allegedly occurred dating back to 1996 .to date.

As a result of the investigation, a man was arrested on Thursday. He was charged with four counts of sexual assault and one count of sexual abuse.

The defendant's name is not being released to protect the victim's identity.

Police believe this is an isolated incident.

MAN WANTED IN ALLEGED SEX ASSAULT IN BOWMANVILLE

An unidentified man is being sought accused of sexually assaulting a woman at her Bowmanville home.

Police say the woman met the man on the dating app Tinder. He connected her with a second man on Snapchat, and after getting to know each other on Snapchat, police said the man went to the woman's home.

Police say the suspect sexually assaulted him while at the apartment and then left the home on foot before police arrived.

The man on Tinder used the username “Alex.” The man used the nickname “Moses” on Snapchat.

The suspect is described as a brown male, approximately 180 cm tall, 20-25 years old, with a large build. He was wearing a black sweater, green cargo pants and white shoes.

The police fear that there may be other victims, so they are asking anyone with information to contact investigators.

Police are looking for video footage after a pedestrian was hit by a school bus

Police are appealing for CCTV or dashcam footage after a young woman was hit by a school bus in the Upper Beaches area on Wednesday afternoon and suffered serious injuries.

Police said the school bus was traveling east on Kingston Rd. and a 22-year-old woman was walking west on Kingston Rd., crossing the street on the north side, when a school bus turned left, heading north on Kingswood Rd., ultimately striking the pedestrian while she was in the crosswalk.

The pedestrian with life-threatening injuries was taken to hospital, while the bus driver remained at the scene.

GIRL, 13, accused of making knife threats in Oshawa

FALSE BUSINESS, REAL FEES

A 30-year-old Brampton man is charged with running a false business and defrauding the public.

Peel Regional Police said the alleged car sales fraud occurred across the Toronto area between spring and summer 2023.

Police said the accused was running a fake business called “Aponic Leasing”, advertising the sale of luxury vehicles on various social media platforms.

In one case, police allege that the defendant met the victim at an unrelated car dealership and pretended to work there in order to defraud the victim.

The defendants allegedly collected deposits from victims for the sale of luxury vehicles, but never delivered the vehicles or refunded the victims.

So far, police say multiple victims have been defrauded of more than $76,000.

The suspect was identified and arrested on October 1.

Sadaf Farooq is accused of defrauding the public and possessing property obtained by crime.

Police are reminding the public to consider not paying upfront or providing a deposit for vehicles or any products or services when dealing with unknown or unverified people advertising on social media.

Investigators believe there may be more victims.
