since then College Athlete Since they have been able to profit from their name, image and likeness since about three years ago, it is understandable that they are looking for money.

Mike Krzyzewski is confident he could find a way to adapt NIL, but admits there isn't much of an answer.
“The game of college basketball is still very exciting, it's just that college sports are in an incredible transition period. When you go through a lot of change, you know where you want to go, but I'm not sure at this point in the transition that everyone knows how it's going to end. It's going to be a little bit of chaos,” Coach Kay said in a recent interview with Fox News Digital.
Krzyzewski, however, would like to see leadership, primarily from the commissioners of the Power Four conferences (and in the case of Big East basketball).
“There's a lack of transparency, and the NCAA hasn't really done a very good job of it. … So I think what we need more than the NCAA is the leadership of the Power-Four conferences and their commissioners,” he said. “I think a new model is needed and I think commissioners should come together to solve it.”
He admits that he doesn't know if the model will work, but experienced trainers will.
“Tom Izos, Danny Hurleys, John Scheer, Calipari, Bill Self, all those guys, Mark Few… they probably have an idea of what it should look like. I would advise these guys to get together and meet with the conference commissioners as a coaching association and say, 'How do we want to run college basketball when it hasn't been run the way it should be in the modern era for the last 30 years. I will recommend these guys because they have been on the battlefield and know what is going on.”
Coach K also said that there is a distinct difference in the way college football is run (rightly so) compared to college basketball.
“College football is run like a business because the people who run it are business people. College basketball is run by a bureaucracy that doesn't handle business well, so change has to come. The game is still exciting and in good shape, but the level of transparency will remain,” he continued.

After all, the legendary coach “believes in NIL” and “the idea is good.” But “there were some unintended consequences.”
“If there is no transparency or some restrictions, this will continue, man. “I don't know where it's going to end up. … This is truly an incredible time for college athletics, and I hope that these leaders will lead, put their hands up around it and really steer it towards a strong future for all sports.”
