Developer Keen Games has officially announced that its co-op survival action role-playing game, Enshrouded, is now scheduled to launch in Early Access on January 24, 2023, for PC via Steam. Accompanying this announcement is a brand-new trailer, offering another sneak peek at the exciting experience that Enshrouded has in store.
In Enshrouded, players will take on the role of Flameborn, the last hope of a dying race. Set within a sprawling voxel-based continent, players will journey across the mountains and deserts of an open world. Starting with nothing but a will to survive the wilds, players will have the freedom to choose their path and shape their destiny. As they scrape and scavenge through the ruined remnants of a lost kingdom, they will encounter ravaging factions and formidable bosses.
Enshrouded offers a 16-player co-op gameplay mode, allowing players to join their friends in an adventure. Together, they will carve out unique roles and complementary skills they will use in battle as they raid, gather treasure, and overcome enemies.
Although Enshrouded has been in development for several years, it was only in May 2023 that the game made its public debut. Keen Games recently launched a demo version during the Steam Next Fest last month, garnering positive feedback, especially from survival game enthusiasts. The game has shown considerable promise, drawing comparisons to popular titles like Valheim and Outward.
Apart from the demo version, Keen Games has been steadily releasing teaser trailers to keep the anticipation alive. Finally, with the Early Access launch, fans can delve deeper into Enshrouded and even contribute to refining the game.
While fans may be hoping for a full version of Enshrouded to arrive very soon, Keen Games has yet to determine when this release will happen. This decision will likely depend on the developer’s confidence in the game’s performance, gameplay, and overall experience on the supported platform, ensuring that Enshrouded lives up to its potential.
