Dragon’s Dogma 2 is on the way, and if you’re like us you’re desperate to see what Capcom have in store for this sequel to the weird and wild action RPG. Well, you’re in luck, as we’ve got glimpses of a whole new land to explore.
Battahl is a desert nation that takes its place alongside the more vanilla Eurpoean-style fantasy Kingdom, Vermund, as the game areas announced so far. Battahl is an arid, rocky nation inhabited by the cat-like beastren. Who said khajiit? They’re just people with cat faces who live in the deser- oh.
It’s not just new lands that we’ve seen lately. Some old faces are back, and they’re looking more fierce and feral than ever.
The Chimera Is Back
The iconic monsters from the first game were shown with a fresh new coat of paint for Dragon’s Dogma 2. The three-headed chimera looks absolutely terrifying, though that’s not going to stop me from hurling myself right at the thing and trying to climb on its back. If you’re not climbing monsters in a Dragon’s Dogma game, are you even really playing it?
As well as the chimera, we got a glimpse at the lizard-like Saurians, who use their tails as a counterbalance to their big old head. Cut the tail off, and the lizardman falls forward and becomes pretty much just a lizard.
Not Your Average ARPG
For any not already converted, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is the sequel to Dragon’s Dogma, a slightly deranged action RPG where a dragon steals one of your internal organs and forces you to go on a quest to get it back.
In your quest, you’re accompanied by Pawns, who are soulless golem-like entities who serve you, because having a malevolent flying dinosaur give you unlicensed heart surgery makes you a hero now.
You’ll journey across the land, fight all kinds of monsters, and make an absolute menace of yourself with a climbing and grappling system. We can’t wait.
