XDefiant has been hyped for a long time as a potential Call of Duty killer. However, it was set to come out in 2023, and fans have been frustrated over several internal delays. Fortunately, the Call of Duty competitor is said to be coming out soon, and the XDefiant release date has possibly leaked.
There is a lot to enjoy in the near future if you are a Call of Duty fan. Modern Warfare 3 Season 3 has just launched, and leaks have revealed an exciting new map and mode for the upcoming 420 event. While this new mode looks absolutely fantastic on its own, there will also be the release of the Cheech and Chong bundle that will literally let you turn enemies into joints.
All of the above are no doubt exciting additions for Modern Warfare 3 soon, but it’s always natural that fans are looking for an alternative. The Finals has been a great alternative multiplayer game to Call of Duty, and everyone is hoping the same will apply to Ubisoft’s XDefiant. We’ve been waiting a long time for the game to fully launch, and its release date may come next month.
Leaked XDefiant release date
The possibly leaked release date for XDefiant is May 13th. This came courtesy of TxDefiant on Twitter courtesy of UBI_FraxV2.
Unfortunately, the TxDefiant Twitter account has been removed so the tweet is no longer up. However, screenshots of the tweet can be found in a YouTube video uploaded by Fringe-Patriot-Gaming.
May 13th does land on a Monday which many users pointed out would be a strange launch day, so it’s possible it could just be the week of May 13th instead. However, nothing is official as of yet as all Ubisoft has said on Twitter is that ‘we hoped to go live by the end of March, there are still improvements that we need to test before that’.
Before launching the game, Ubisoft is planning to conduct a 12-hour playtest on PS5, Xbox, and PC. This will be worldwide and the goal is to test Ubisoft’s servers to get critical data to help them prepare for launch.
No date has been shared for this playtest as of writing, but TxDefiant posted on Twitter that it will happen on April 11th. Again, this is not official so is merely a rumor as of writing.
Once the playtest is over, Ubisoft says they should be able to announce and lock an official launch date for the full experience.
Again, XDefiant has been anticipated for a long time thanks to previews hyping it as a potential Call of Duty killer. While the odds of killing Call of Duty are minimal at best, it could be a strong alternative to the Activision multiplayer juggernaut similar to The Finals.
Meanwhile, on the Call of Duty side, Activision will announce the new CoD for 2024 in just a few months. Call of Duty 2024 is reportedly called Black Ops Gulf War, and the release window for its betas has possibly leaked.
