Blue Bloods' Tom Selleck Brings His New Look to the Red Carpet During Animated Appearance

Tom Selleck may be “frustrated” by the cancellation of Blue Bloods, but he still keeps a smile on his face.

Tom is usually seen with sleek hair and a clean-shaven face with his well-groomed mustache, but lately he looks quite different with a full beard and long gray hair.

The actor's mustache is as infamous as he is, and although he shaved it off for roles in the early days of his career, he appears with his now iconic facial hair in some of his best-known roles.

However, for his role as Police Commissioner Frank Reagan on Blue Bloods, Tom initially wanted to keep him clean shaven.

He added: “I said, 'Well, I don't think they have mustaches, so I'm going to shave mine,' and [executive producer] leonardo [Goldberg] “Checking CBS,” he said. “They said no.”

Tom was disappointed but excited that Blue Bloods was cancelled.

Earlier this month, Tom expressed his frustration over the show's cancellation after 14 years, saying the success of the NYPD drama was “always taken for granted.”

When asked how he felt about the series ending with its 14th season, Tom told TV Insider: “I'm a little disappointed. For those last eight shows, I don't want to talk about the end of Blue Bloods, but it's still a huge success.
