Due to the ransomware attack on Insomniac Games, over 1.3 million files constituting 1.7 TB have been stolen and are now being leaked. These include sales numbers for first-party PlayStation titles, including Bloodborne. Developed by FromSoftware with Sony Japan Studio, it launched in March 2015 for PS4 and sold over two million copies by September.

However, according to the leaked sales data (via ResetEra), the action RPG sold through 7.464 million units, as of fiscal year 2020, with 7.648 million sold-in to retailers. It generated 265 million dollars in net sales, with 41 percent being digital. The data covers sales of first-party titles up till the last week of February 2022, so Bloodborne’s current sales could be even higher.

It’s interesting to see these figures and the demand for a sequel, remake, or even PS5 upgrade for the title over the years. The last rumors surrounding Bloodborne 2 and a PC port/remaster of the original were squashed in February 2022. As always, the wait continues.

In the meantime, check out sales for PlayStation’s PC ports, like God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales (which has sold 10.2 million across all platforms) and more. Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart also sold 2.2 million copies, resulting in a loss for Sony.
