Today Pearl Abyss hosted its traditional Calpheon Ball news livestream, and the developer of Black Desert certainly had a lot to share.
During the livestream, Pearl Abyss shared that a native version of the game for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S is in development and the plan is to release it within 2024. On top of that, we learn that the developers plans to show it off in the summer of 2024.
Next, we learn about the new region that’s coming next year, and it’s going to be an addition to Land of the Morning Light, Seoul. Yes, that’s the same name as South Korea’s capital.
The similarity doesn’t stop at the name (and it’s pretty unsurprising since Land of the Morning light is openly inspired by Korea). Seoul will be inspired by the main royal palace of the Joseon Dynasty.
It’ll also include several new bosses, and you can see two of them below.
With Seoul, a new class will also be made available. It’s a male class, which is pretty rare for the game, and he’s a do wielder fighting with a sword and a pipe. You can see the only illustration we got below.
Speaking of releases that are coming much earlier, below you can take a look at new Holiday outfits that will be released on December 20 on PC.
The console version will get them at some point in the winter, but a date has not been revealed yet.
Another Winter outfit is coming to PC on December 10, and again, we don’t yet know exactly when it’ll release on consoles.
Last, but certainly not least, we get the introduction of a new class, which will also be released on December 20 on PC and at some point soon on consoles. It’s the Scholar, who fight with hammers and the power of alchemy.
Below you can take a look at her introduction trailer.
We also get a second trailer introducing the Scholar’s gameplay.
If you’re unfamiliar with Black Desert Online, it’s a MMORPG that has been around for quite a while currently available for PC, Xbox One, and PS4 (with the console versions simply called Black Desert) and well known for its visual fidelity and action combat. A version for iOS and Anroid titled Black Desert Mobile is also available, but its progression is somewhat separate.
In the meanwhile, Pearl Abyss is also working on a very promising RPG titled Crimson Desert, which isn’t related to Black Desert besides the name.
