Announced nearly two years ago, Bethesda’s new Indiana Jones game was made a console exclusive after Microsoft bought out parent company Zenimax.
The decision to make the new Indiana Jones game, and any game a console exclusive for that matter, typically brings about some level of controversy. That doesn’t bother Disney, though, if a new interview is anything to go by.
“With Xbox still being one of the bigger marketplaces for games, we didn’t feel like we were going to be overly exclusionary,” Disney VP of gaming Sean Shoptaw said to Axios.
He added, “We felt like it’s still going to reach a broad set of folks, and we felt, financially and strategically for the game, that made sense at the time.”
Not much is known about the new Indiana Jones game aside from the fact that Machine Games is developing it, and it will be exclusive to Windows PC and Xbox Series X|S.
