In Monster Hunter Now, your weapons are important. Depending on what playstyle you are going for, they can make the game super easy or downright hard.

Each weapon offered in the mobile game has unique ways to attack monsters, some may be powerful while others, not so much. So, let’s go over the best weapons in Monster Hunter Now.

Monster Hunter Now: Best weapons

There are about seven weapons in the game, however, I’m not a fan of all of them. Some I’ve ignored because they’re just annoying to use. But these that follow are probably the best and have made Monster Hunter Now fun to play.

Great Sword

While slow, the Great Sword does combat this in power and damage. Using this weapon can help you understand combat better, and train you in how to fight at a minor disadvantage, which is speed. Thankfully, dodging and locking on is fairly easy to do. If you evade and get those heavy hits in, you can beat even tougher tier 3 and higher monsters better.

Long Sword

You can be pretty versatile with this weapon type. I didn’t know this, but if you hit the monster in the right spot, you can cut parts of it off. This makes fighting much easier to do, especially when dealing with tougher enemies. The Long Sword also has my favorite special called Spirit Helm Breaker that sends you in the air, raining down a massive attack.

Hammer

This weapon type is interesting — if you invest in it long enough, it can pay off. If you can successfully dodge attacks as you would with the great sword, you can overcome a lot. But, I have to warn you, it’s very slow. Now that I think about it, the Hammer may be slower than the Great Sword. But the damage output is far better and worth it, especially as you upgrade it. If you don’t mind the slow speed, the Hammer can be useful.

Sword and Shield

The Sword and Shield is one you’ll start with and can keep throughout your journey. The pair are perfectly balanced with great defense and even better attack, so downing monsters can be a smooth ride. Unlike the other weapons on this list, you get a shield that can help you take more of a beating. On top of that, you don’t have to counter as much since your defenses are up at all times.
