Highlights
- The Ninja Job in Final Fantasy 14 enhances gameplay with teleportation-based movements, attacks, and defensive abilities.
- Ninjas rely heavily on DEX and VIT-based bonuses to secure both offense and survivability.
- The different iterations of Ninja’s Relic Weapons, such as Sasuke’s Blades Zeta, Spurs of the Thorn Prince, and Sandungs Lux, have unique appearances and customizable substats to enhance the Job’s aesthetics and versatility in combat.
Since their addition in Patch 2.4 alongside the Blue Mage, the Ninja of Final Fantasy 14 enhances gameplay with their flair for stealth and mobility. Unlike other Jobs in the Final Fantasy MMO, Ninjas outpace opponents with teleportation-based movements, attacks, and even defensive abilities. In terms of gear, their namesake encourages Ninja to wear clothes for stealth, emphasizing slender wares that blend into the shadows easily.
Final Fantasy 14: 12 Most Epic Boss Fights, Ranked

Such is also a requirement for them with their Relic Weapons, as Ninjas rely heavily on DEX and VIT-based bonuses to secure both their offense and survivability. Beginning at Level 50, Ninjas can start quests that unlock increasingly progressing Relic Weapons, some of which change in both name and appearance to give the Job a much-needed enhancement in aesthetics.

Among the first sets of Relic Weapons a Ninja can acquire in Final Fantasy 14 gameplay, perhaps Sasuke’s Blades Zeta among the Zodiac line best serves its purpose in terms of aesthetics. Moreover, its name comes from the recurring weapon of the same name that is usually relegated to the Ninja Job. While its overall Physical Damage and offerings for DEX and VIT base bonuses could use some tweaking, its regal appearance makes it fitting for its Rarity classification.
Compared to its predecessors in the line with an appearance akin to the traditional tanto, the wider overall blades of Sasuke’s Blades Zeta fall in line with the aesthetic of the jambiya dagger. As expected of daggers of this rarity, the Sasuke’s Blades Zeta have an ornate pommel and guard, with one side extending to the non-sharp edge of the blade like a smaller sword. The back of the blade is black inlaid with golden details, while the edge itself is curved slightly at the top. The Zeta iteration, in particular, glows red when activated, as though the knife possesses an afterimage.

Boasting one of the most unique appearances for a Ninja Relic Weapon would be the Spurs of the Thorn Prince, belonging to the Anima family. Befitting the stealthy Job, the Spurs of the Thorn Prince boast customizable substats alongside decent DEX and VIT boosts, perfect for a starting Relic Weapon that remains stylish.
When equipped, the Spurs of the Thorn Prince isn’t a single blade but is rather a single hilt that branches out into three blades. The hilt and blades seem to be made out of the same crystal, with only the pommel, guard, and thorny details with each blade comprised of dark metal. When activated, the hilt and the blades glow a bright purple.

The image of a historical knife with symmetric edges is embodied by the rather ancient-looking Sandungs Lux, with an appearance that is a far cry from its previous iterations that focus more on the Eastern aesthetic of its Ninja Job user. As a weapon for the Final Fantasy class, the Sandungs Lux boasts customizable substats that can improve the Ninja’s versatility in combat. Its Physical Damage, as well as base DEX and VIT bonuses, are manageable for the weapon collector, especially for those intrigued by its appearance.
Final Fantasy 14: Funniest Things That Happen In The Hildibrand Side Quests, Ranked
Hildibrand has a lengthy series of hilarious side quests in Final Fantasy 14, and these are the funniest moments so far.
At its core, the Sandungs Lux seems stylized after the cinquedea or the pugio, both types of daggers characterized by their wide blades. The Sandungs Lux, in particular, has an engraved guard and etchings on the main blade that glows gold when activated.

When it comes to knives for the stealthy Ninja, their gameplay as a Job in the Final Fantasy game demands a reliance on mobility and fast-paced attacks. This makes a weapon like the Nagi Pagos +1 a decent mid-level Relic Weapon for the Job, especially for players still working their way to unlock all of them in their playthrough.
As expected of a Ninja Relic Weapon, the Nagi Pagos +1 has quite a threatening appearance. Its pommel and hilt seem simple enough, but it enhances the tsuba of the original Nagi by replacing it with a more nuanced flat guard. The blade itself is more uneven, forming a first short edge just after the hilt before extending once again into a thicker blade before ending once more as a pointed edge.

Just because a Ninja as a Final Fantasy 14 Job has Eastern origins doesn’t necessarily mean they have to maintain this aesthetic for the rest of their playthrough. This is something the Hydatos Knives symbolize, as their decent DEX and VIT base boosts already give Ninjas the means to contend with foes in terms of sheer speed. Compared to other Rogue Arms, the Hydatos Knives fits a stealthy Ninja with its robust appearance guaranteed to catch enemies off-guard.
At its core, the Hydatos Knives boast a simple black-red hilt with a flat golden pommel, with its guard containing four protruding blades to the back and one to the front that clash with the knife core. The knife itself has two main edges, one pointing downwards towards the player and another pointing forward after a harsh angular curve.

Boasting the swirling nature of the kris, the Kasasagi Physeos being the last upgrade tier of the Eurekan Relic Weapon line for the Ninja fits its status with both its impressive appearance and stats. While the weapon suffers a drop in DEX and VIT bonuses compared to its more potent Blade’s counterpart, adding an Elemental Bonus does afford Ninjas much-needed versatility close to the endgame.
Its base appearance doesn’t deviate as much from the Eurekan line of swirl-bladed knives, although the Kasasagi Physeos is more imposing. The weapon feels like the knife is made out of a single piece of metal with ornate details and red details on the hilt. The purple sheen on the knife’s blade adds an intimidating element, especially when swirls of crimson energy emanate upon activation.

Similar to their fantastical counterparts, the Ninja Job in their Final Fantasy MMO gameplay can excel in the aesthetic department if their outfits of choice resemble their sleek and stealthy description. Thanks to the Augmented Law’s Order Knives, a Ninja can attain exactly that. Thanks to customizable substats and strong bonuses on Dexterity and Vitality, a Ninja with this pair of weapons can contend with near-endgame foes. However, where the weapon shines is in its traditional look.

At its core, Augmented Law’s Knives carry the core aesthetic of its Law’s Order base, boasting quite a long ornamental hilt with a solid swirl-patterned pommel as though modeled after a calligraphy brush. The weapon boasts long icicle-like blades that glow a fierce ice-blue when activated.

Compared to other Rogue’s Arms for the Ninja in a player’s Final Fantasy 14 playthrough, Blade’s Subtlety boasts one of the most iconic appearances. Leaning away from the traditional katana of its first iterations and the tanto designs of its latter half upgrades, Blade’s Subtely has a more vibrant appearance. Its base Physical Damage and decent Auto-Attack make it quite an appealing Relic Weapon, especially with its customizable substats. However, where the weapon strikes an appeal to collectors would be its appearance.
At first glance, Blade’s Subtlety takes the form of a large kunai usually associated with the shinobi. However, upon activation, the ornate dark metal of the weapon becomes engulfed with orange energy. Not only that, but green crystals manifest and float around the hilt, giving Ninjas quite a stylish blade that is compatible with their more subtle outfits.

When one hears of the Ninja Job in Final Fantasy 14 gameplay, one might think of the typical shinobi using stealth and mobility to get the upper hand against foes. Their Eastern-inspired aesthetic becomes more evident with the Amazing Manderville Knives, a direct upgrade to the base Manderville Knives that retains its core visual.
Befitting the Ninja’s Japanese origins, the Amazing Manderville Knives boast the appearance of a tanto with a curved blade and an ornamental pommel, with purple-gold details extending past the guard and towards a darker back of the blade. On the side opposite the sharp edge is a protruded blade not unlike a wing. When activated, this protrusion and the part of the blade closest to the guard gloves with active purplish energy.

Among the Rogue’s Arms that Ninjas can acquire in their Final Fantasy 14 gameplay, the mobile-heavy juggernauts should look for the Majestic Manderville Knives should they want to acquire the latest highest-tier equivalent of Level 90 Relic Weapons. While designated as the final upgrade to the Manderville Knives, the Majestic Manderville variant doesn’t boast much base stats compared to its Amazing predecessor.
However, the Majestic Manderville Knives stand out in terms of overall appearance. Instead of boasting a single-edged semi-curved blade under the style of an ornamental tanto, the Majestic Manderville Knife gets an upgrade with a slimmer overall frame. Its hilt is now thinner and boasts a slender knuckle guard, while its straighter blade extends from two starting triangular points. In the vein of other Majestic Manderville weapons, the blade itself is engulfed in flames – adequate for the blazing fury of the Ninja.
