Warner Bros. Games and developer Rocksteady Studios have surprisingly released a new update for their critically acclaimed Gotham-based series entry, Batman Arkham Knight, eight years after its initial release. However, instead of including the typical bug fixes and quality-of-life changes, this specific patch has taken the game’s loyal community by storm, as it has added a new wearable suit to its slew of available costumes in the form of Robert Pattinson’s contemporary The Batman outfit.
Though the newly added ensemble isn’t as fancy as the Spider-Man 2 Digital Deluxe suits, the latest addition is still reasonably eye-catching. Featuring an all-black design that perfectly encapsulates the brooding aura of Robert Pattinson’s version of Bruce Wayne, the suit has quickly become a hit with the fan base not only because of its aesthetic appeal but also because nobody expected another update to an 8-year-old game, let alone one that introduced a modern outfit to its already-large costume closet.
Naturally, players quickly took to social media sites to spread the word, informing others of the new attire’s arrival. Over on the BatmanArkham subreddit, fans have predictably begun posting reactions to the Robert Pattinson suit, with one user even sharing an image of how the suit looks in-game. Players commenting under the thread couldn’t help but comment on the graphic’s similarities with the film’s protagonist, as one responder said: “[It] actually looks like Pattinson a bit.”
Others, on the other hand, took this opportunity to ask Rocksteady Studios for more quality-of-life updates, with Fares26597 noting: “[The developers] should honestly fix the camera resolution while they’re at it. The horizontal stretch makes him look too wide and makes the right arm look bigger.” Though it’s currently unclear why the game’s creators decided to introduce a new skin at this point, it seems unlikely that they’ll be releasing another update for the game any time soon.
