Balur’s Gate 3 has been on the receiving end of universal acclaim on both PC and PS5, making the wait for the RPG for those hoping to play it on Xbox Series X/S that much more excruciating, though that wait might be coming to an end a little over a month from now. Larian Studios recently reiterated that the acclaimed RPG will indeed be coming to Xbox this year, and a release date has seemingly leaked.

As per an Exputer report citing anonymous sources, Baldur’s Gate 3 is set to launch for Xbox Series X/S on December 6. As per the report, if playtesting turns up significant issues that are currently unknown, Larian will push back the release to later in the month or early 2024, but that scenario is reportedly deemed unlikely, which means the game will be launching for Xbox in a month’s time in all likeliness.

In our review of Baldur’s Gate 3’s original PC release, we awarded it a score of 10/10, saying, “Like Divinity: Original Sin 2, Baldur’s Gate 3 redefines what a role-playing game can offer in character-building, combat, story-telling and choice. It’s a compelling experience that simply shouldn’t be missed.” You can read the full review through here. You can also read our review of its PS5 version through here, where we also awarded it a 10/10.

Recently, it was reported that Baldur’s Gate 3’s success also drove license owner Wizards of the Coast to 133 percent year-over-year growth in revenues for Q3 of 2023.
