Larian Studios has teased that Baldur’s Gate 3 is on track for a December 2023 release on Xbox. The exact release date will be revealed during the The Game Awards. Larian Studios made an announcement on X (formally known as Twitter), saying:

Xbox players, we hear you’re looking for more news on Baldur’s Gate 3. The game is on track for a December release.

We’ll see you at The Game Awards for the World Premiere™ of the exact release date.

This is some time after the initial PC release of Baldur’s Gate 3 on August 3, 2023. The Xbox version of Baldur’s Gate 3 was thought to release with the PC version but complications have made Xbox players wait longer. PlayStation players are already able to get their hands on the game, so it’s a bit of a disappointment for those on Xbox.

Baldur’s Gate 3 has already swept the Golden Joystick Awards and is considered to be a top-tier game. The game has been praised for its role-playing elements, story, and visuals so many players should be excited. We’ll have to wait until the Game Awards to know exactly when Baldur’s Gate 3 will be released on Xbox.

The Xbox version of the game should feature all of the content that is currently available in the PC and PS5 versions. The wait feels long for those unable to buy the game on consoles (like me!) but hopefully, it will be over very soon. When it’s finally released, I know I’m buying the game on day one on Xbox.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is a role-playing game set in the Forgotten Realms, a fantasy world created by Dungeons & Dragons. In Baldur’s Gate 3, players create a custom character and then embark on a journey to stop a mind-flayer invasion of the Sword Coast.
