Let’s explore the reasons behind the decision to delay Avowed to 2025

After the last Xbox event, Avowed seemed to be in excellent shape and appeared to be well underway along the development point of view. The Obsidian team has significantly improved it to ensure the best RPG experience possible for players, which has also involved an upgrade to the new version of UNREAL ENGINE 5.

This is one of Xbox’s most important titles, and Phil Spencer is heavily invested in it and, as always, he’s closely monitoring the team to manage the development as effectively as possible.

Avowed requires time

Obsidian has been working on this production for several years, even before the Microsoft acquisition.

The title has undergone several modifications of varying magnitude to ensure players get better graphics and RPG quality, with a remarkable level of freedom.

All of this requires a high level of attention to detail, and the time Phil Spencer has given the team will be crucial for making further improvements.

When is Avowed expected to be released?

Avowed has been postponed to early 2025, compared to the previous release planned for fall 2024, in order to improve and optimize the title; Unreal Engine 5 can guarantee a powerful experience, as Microsoft’s previous masterpiece Hellblade 2 (check out our review here) has fully demonstrated.

So, we can expect Avowed to come out in 2025.
