Despite the staying power that the series has, Avatar: The Last Airbender surprisingly fumbled in the mobile gaming sphere, with Generations shuttering about a mere year after launch. Now, Tilting Point is giving it a go, with the upcoming Avatar Legends: Realms Collide.
If you haven’t heard of this, then I hate to burst your buddle, but it is a 4x strategy game. One of those city managers that often try to make you pay for building upgrades or have you wait a month in real time. Only this time there are Avatar characters, which does elevate it, if only a little.
As the new full-length trailer states, Realms Collide is set in an unusual period of peace, right up until a cult dedicated to Father Glowworm pops up to cause trouble. You will need to recruit legendary heroes from across all the Avatar media; series, comic books and novels, to fight back this evil and restore the land once more.
You will be able to choose between one of the four storied elements of the Avatar world, each with its own gameplay advantages, units, and look. From then, you will need to grow your base and construct your own city, balancing resource generation, technology research, and of course recruiting an army.
When you are ready, it is time to strike out into the world and explore, finding a host of different entities to engage with and resources to gather to keep growing your strength. You won’t need to fight this war alone though, as you can partner up with other players to form alliances to help share the burden.
Pre-orders for Avatar Legends: Realms Collide have opened on the App Store and Google Play. If you are interested in the game you will want to, as you will receive in-game rewards such as resources, items to speed up gameplay, and a shard to exchange for a Legendary Hero, as well as other goodies.
