Assassin’s Creed Mirage launched earlier this month, delivering a smaller and more condensed experience in line with older Assassin’s Creed game, but for those who’re waiting for the Ubisoft franchise’s next big flagship release, there’s Assassin’s Creed Codename Red to look forward to. Developed primarily by Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Syndicate studio Ubisoft Quebec, though it doesn’t yet have an official release date (or even an official name), it seems like it could be coming out sometime next year.
That’s as per a recent post on LinkedIn by Arisa Lagunzad, who is at Business Development & Brand Partnership at Ubisoft. As spotted by PCGamesN, in the post, while referring to Codename Red and its feudal Japan setting, Lagunzad referred to the title as a release for next year, while also calling it “the biggest blockbuster of 2024” (the latter can no longer be seen in the now-edited post).
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen reports of Codename Red targeting a 2024 release. Previous leaks have claimed that the game will feature two protagonists – a samurai and a shinobi – and that official details will be shared sometime in 2024, ahead of an expected release later in the year.
Meanwhile, the recently-launched Assassin’s Creed Mirage is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Read our review of the game through here.
