“Arrowhead, hire this guy” Helldivers 2 player creates concept for a much-needed quality of life change

Now that Arrowhead Game Studios has returned from summer vacation, we can expect to see lots of new Helldivers 2 content and update over the coming weeks. Players can expect the Escalation of Freedom update on August 6th which will add new planets, missions, enemies, and more to the game.

Following that is the Freedom’s Flame Warbond on August 8th, which will finally add fire-resistant armor to Helldivers 2 along with new Incendiary and flame weapons. With the developers now hard at work on improving the game, players have plenty of ideas that they want to see come to the game in the future.

U/Ominaeyu took to Reddit to share a new concept for loadout presets. This is an idea that I have wanted to be added to Helldivers 2 for some time and have expressed my thoughts in the past. With the Automatons and Terminids needing a different approach, including weapons and armor, having the ability to switch quickly would be helpful rather than trying to remember before the mission begins. This is also why I always tell you to optimise your loadout.

Other players took to the replies to share their thoughts, with u/40ozFreed saying “This is amazing work. The Devs have confirmed that there isn’t any plans to implement loadouts though unfortunately.” While u/ZachWefel2015 complimented the concept by saying “That sounds really nice. I think it would be awesome to have a few loadouts, and I would definitely use this feature.”

u/Bastard_Man pointed out that custom loadouts were available in the first game saying “HD1 has three or four loadout slots and a randomise all option. This could be implemented easily.” u/PsychoticBreakation believes we could see it in a future Helldivers 2 quality-of-life update saying “We had this in HD1. They will do it eventually. Anything you can think of we already did in HD1…realize they are just drip feeding us content.”

And finally, u/Smoke_Funds simply stated “ArrowHead, hire this guy.”

The developers are currently focused on quality-of-life updates, with the upcoming Escalation of Freedom update featuring kick grief prevention. This means that we could see new features such as custom loadouts come in the future as they continue to improve the experience for players.
