Morefun Studios has announced the Early Access release date for extraction shooter Arena Breakout: Infinite, and you’ll be able to check it out for free next week.
Per a press release, Arena Breakout: Infinite launches into Early Access on August 12th at 7pm Pacific (that’s 10pm Eastern). Naturally, this means that if you’re in the UK or further east, you’ll have to wait until the following day to play the game.
Since the closed beta period for the game, Morefun has focused on adding features like a new Armory map, new weapons, and new gameplay features like a killcam and a spectate mode, among other things.
Additionally, if you’re still running a relatively old gaming PC, you’ll be pleased to know the minimum required hardware has been lowered to an Nvidia GTX 960, so you may well be able to play now where you couldn’t before.
During the Early Access phase, Morefun has pledged to optimize the game, of course, as well as adding new features, fine-tuning mechanics, and “balanc[ing] monetization systems”. This, the studio hopes, will lead to “the most compelling extraction shooter experience on PC”.
If Arena Breakout: Infinite is hoping to take that title, it’ll have some stiff competition. There’s Escape from Tarkov, of course, which is arguably still the reigning champion despite its recent stumbles. The game will also have to field challenges from the likes of Gray Zone Warfare and more fantasy-oriented competitors like Dungeonborne, among others.
If you’re wondering what the deal is with Arena Breakout: Infinite, it’s a tactical shooter that places its emphasis on realistic engagements and weapon customization.
You’ll be able to choose from over 500 gun parts to create your ideal weapon, and since “every bullet counts” in the world of Arena Breakout: Infinite, you’ll have to make sure your customization is on point.
Arena Breakout: Infinite launches for PC via Steam Early Access on August 12th, and it’s a free-to-play game to boot.
