Players will find themselves visiting Ripperdocs pretty frequently in Cyberpunk 2077. After all, these are the ‘skilled’ specialists V will need in order to install all the various Cyberware they collect over the course of their adventures in Night City.
Cyberpunk 2077: The 15 Most Expensive Items In The Game
It may come as no surprise that players can find some luxury items inside of Cyberpunk 2077 but some can really break the virtual bank to purchase.
There are many different Ripperdocs scattered throughout Cyberpunk 2077‘s Night City, each one offering different systems in their shops from hand mods to brain mods. One of them makes an appearance in the main story, Viktor Vector. With his rad piercings and ability to install Cyberware while wearing sunglasses, Viktor gives V new eyes that let them scan enemies. But, out of all the Optics systems available in the game, are there any in the category of ‘Legendary’? Let’s take a look
Updated December 15th, 2023 by Jacob Buchalter: Originally, when this guide first came out, there were barely any Legendary Optics at all in Cyberpunk 2077. Outside of the 3 Kiroshi Optics, there wasn’t much else for V to slot into their eye sockets. However, in the massive amount of updates, fixes, patches, and now a DLC drop with Phantom Liberty, some more options have been added. They’re still all Kiroshi-brand Optics, but there are now unique variants of certain models similar to how there are unique variants of different cars. With that in mind, let’s see if any Legendary Optics exist in the game now and go over what Optics options players have as a whole.
The Kiroshi Optics Line
A Lot More Options Than There Used To Be
First, it should be noted that there’s only one real manufacturer of Optic Cyberware in Cyberpunk 2077, Kiroshi. It used to be that there were more mods for Optic Cyberware than there were Cyberware options, but that’s no longer the case as of relatively recently (at least at the time of updating this). Up until Patch 2.0, Kiroshi Optics was still the only available option, but thanks to this Patch, players now have a lot more choices.
In any case, V can obtain the basic Ocular System very early on in the store called Viktor’s Clinic from the illustrious Viktor Vektor. From there, players can find some unique variants of different Kiroshi Options from specific Ripperdocs or as a reward from specific missions. Here are all the ones in the game as of the 2.1 update:

Dogtown Ripperdocs at level 35+ or Randomly from Airdrops |
Again, the options with Optic Cyberware have changed massively between the game’s initial release and now. This also isn’t taking into account the fact that players can now upgrade their Cyberware to the next Tier of Rarity right at the Ripperdoc menu. Also, keep in mind that there’s an attuning system in the game now that can add extra effects to Cyberware based on the stats the player has chosen for their version of V.
Are There Legendary Optics In Cyberpunk 2077 Now?
Technically, Both Yes & No
The answer to this question is now entirely different from what it used to be. Originally, players had to find their Cyberware at different Rarities and had no way of really ‘upgrading’ them to the next Tier of Rarity. So now, technically any Optic Cyberware can be Legendary, given enough Crafting Materials.
However, as a more ‘genuine’ answer to the question, both the Oracle and Cockatrice Kiroshi options are probably the closest players will be able to find at the Legendary level, with the Oracle Optics being very likely to show up in the Ripperdoc menu as Legendary if the player is level 40+.
How The New Cyberware Systems Play Into Optic Cyberware
A Lot More Going On Than When The Game First Came Out
Again, due to Cyberpunk 2077 going through quite a massive amount of changes between its initial release and now, the way Cyberware (and combat in general) works is completely different from how it used to. For those who haven’t come back to the game in a long time, there’s now a ‘Cyberware Capacity’ players will need to manage (with an Edgerunners Perk that’s an obvious reference to the Netflix anime), there are the randomized stat bonuses that different Cyberware gets, players can now upgrade any Cyberware to the next Tier, and there are even Perks that give additional bonuses or the ability to choose which bonus stays after the Cyberware is upgraded.
This is all to say that there’s a lot of variability in the Cyberware system of Cyberpunk 2077 now. Around the time of the game’s release, players really only had a couple of Optic options and a few basic mods they could slot into their Cyberware. But now, due to the patches and the Phantom Liberty DLC, it’s very difficult to have players with the exact same Optic Cyberware Effects.
