Apex Legends backtracks Battle Pass changes after fan outcry

Developer Respawn Entertainment has apologized to fans of Apex Legends for the poor reception of the game’s new Battle Pass and its pricing changes.

The new Apex Legends Battle Pass was released on July 8th and removed the ability to buy and upgrade your battle pass with in-game currency, forcing players to use real currency instead.

The cost to upgrade was $9.99 every half season, instead of 950 Apex coins. The Premium Bundle was also changed to $19.99 instead of 2,800 Apex coins.

Due to the outcry, the developers decided to reinstate the 950 Apex coins for Premium battle passes, starting in the second half of Season 22, and apologized to the players. Better rewards can now be acquired in the new Battle Pass options.

In addition, Premium battle passes could now be acquired in the first half of Season 22 through simple in-game challenges.

Respawn Entertainment promised new improvements in Season 22, which is starting on August 5th.

Apex Legends has been available on Microsoft Windows (via Steam), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, PS4, and PS5.
