Ancient Dungeon Sets December 8 Release Date for PSVR2

Developer Eric Thullen’s voxel rogue-lite dungeon crawler, Ancient Dungeon, is set to make its official debut on PlayStation VR2 on December 8th, thanks to publishing support from Maze Theory. Ancient Dungeon has already established a dedicated community since its early access release on Steam VR and AppLab on November 3, 2021, followed by its launch on Meta Quest on September 15, 2022.

Ancient Dungeon VR immerses players in randomly generated dungeons filled with traps, secrets, mini-bosses, and tons of loot. The game’s narrative unfolds as players embark on a quest to search for long-lost writings and historical records, revealing hidden secrets through deep environmental storytelling.

The challenges increase as players delve further into the world of Ancient Dungeon. Each dungeon has its unique theme, such as the Overgrown Gatehouse with its lush vegetation and plant-based enemies, or the mysterious Forgotten Library inhabited by magical creatures.

As they progress, players will upgrade their character to acquire new weapon features. Players may collect and unlock over 100 different upgrades, ranging from simple helper upgrades, such as companion wisps to game-changing upgrades such as exploding, homing, and throwing knives.

Ancient Dungeon guarantees a fresh adventure with each playthrough, introducing players to a variety of enemies specific to each dungeon type. These adversaries include wights, slimes, skeletons, wisps, flying skulls, champion enemies, and more.

The game also features a physics-based combat system, which adds an extra layer of satisfaction to melee and ranged strikes. It also presents an interactable environment, allowing players to cut through grass, destroy pots, and throw or drink potions.

Eager fans who want to be notified as soon as Ancient Dungeon launches for PSVR2 can now add the game to their PlayStation Store wishlist.
