Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager were furious on Monday's episode of Hoda & Jenna after Hollywood actress Amanda Seyfried was disgusted after she snuck into a cake baked for dogs.
Amanda, 38, appeared on the NBC show with her pet Finn to promote her partnership with Synchrony's CareCredit and Pets Best Insurance, while the hosting duo treated her Australian Shepherd to a surprise cake to mark his 15th birthday.
'Is it dog friendly?' Jenna, 42, asked Amanda, 'Can I eat?' Jenna quickly offered to feed it to him, before Hoda, 60, jumped in and added, “Well, we'll save it, you decide.”
'Wait,' mother-of-two Amanda quickly told her, 'he's 15, he can have whatever he wants!' Hoda replied: 'Oh really? Should I put it down?' But Jenna suddenly panicked and asked: 'Are you sure? We don't know!'
Mother Mia! Star Amanda wasted no time in leaning over and scooping some of the icing into her mouth with her finger. Mum-of-three Jenna looked shocked and blurted: 'What does this taste like? You might be eating dog food!'

With a slight disgust on her face, Amanda smacked her lips and agreed: “Yes, this is not for us, this is not for us …” and then asked: “Can I have some water?” Hoda and Jenna started laughing.
Earlier in the interview, Amanda was keen to stress the importance of pet insurance: 'I should have had it. Everyone I know nowadays has it because it's so smart and the truth is, Finn's been through a lot of health stuff.
'We are really lucky to have him here. He's had a lot of chemo, he's had a lot of specialists, a lot of vet bills, and I'm very lucky to be able to afford it, but it's been very stressful.
The bill comes, and most people can't understand or deal with the bill, but you have to pay it immediately. It's as simple as that because it's stressful, pets are expensive,' Amanda added.
During a recent interview with People, Amenda – who referred to her pet cat as her 'first child' – revealed how Finn has changed her life for the better.
'[Pets give us] Purpose No matter what we say, we can't deny that we need purpose, and you have a responsibility to care for animals who have no voice and can't really do much for themselves. More than we can offer them, actually,” he told the publication.

The mother of two adopted her 15-year-old Australian shepherd while working on the set of the HBO series Big Love.
'As soon as he was mine, 24 hours after I had him, I realized there was something about me he needed,' she told PEOPLE in 2019.
'He completely changed my life and helped me find my independence and independence.'
