Release date, content, download size, and much more about the free demo of Stellar Blade coming this month on the PlayStation Store.
Shift Up and Sony Interactive Entertainment have officially announced the arrival of a free demo for Stellar Blade, the highly anticipated dynamic action-adventure game set to release exclusively on PlayStation 5 on April 26th. Game Director Hyung Tae Kim revealed the news on the PlayStation Blog, providing all the details.
The demo, which will be available starting from March 29th on the PlayStation Store, will take players through the very beginning of the game, putting them in the shoes of Eve, a member of the 7th Airborne Squad sent to Earth on a mission to reclaim the planet from the Naytiba. The demo will introduce us to a tutorial that allows us to explore the first main area, the once human city “Eidos 7,” enabling us to familiarize ourselves with the gameplay mechanics and basic combat features essential for progressing in the game, up to the first boss fight.
If and when you complete the first stage, as revealed, the developers have prepared a small, delightful surprise for you. We don’t yet know if it will be an in-game bonus to redeem in the full game, an additional area, or something else. The only way to find out is to play it.
The progress made in the free trial can then be transferred to the full game, allowing players to resume from the last checkpoint if successfully completed.
The demo, much like the full game, will feature a 60 fps performance mode (along with two other graphical modes, Balanced and Resolution) and will give us a glimpse of how the game leverages the features of the DualSense wireless controller. As officially stated by the Game Director, both the demo and the full game will be dubbed in 8 languages (Korean, English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Latin Spanish), while the interface and subtitles will be available in 20 languages (Korean, English US, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Swedish, Arabic, Turkish, Thai, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese).
As mentioned, the demo will be available starting from Friday, March 29th on the PlayStation Store, from 7am PDT and 2pm GMT. According to PlayStation Game Size, the demo will have a download size of 16 GB, precisely 16.168 GB.
