How to Unlock Caldera St. Station Subway Entrance in Alan Wake 2
The Caldera St. Station is located on the east side of the map in Alan Wake 2, near the talk show studio where you start your mission. Once you exit the studio, you’ll find a map by a phone booth that will help you locate the station. Alan Wake will comment that there’s no visible entrance, which is where your Angel Lamp comes into play.
How To Get the First Light Source
To find the first light source for your Angel Lamp, head to the west side of the map, directly across from the station. Look for an alley with neon lights and a sign that says “Neighborhood Illumination.” Follow the path down the stairs near the neon arrow and Alex Casey posters. A cutscene will play, and you’ll be prompted to suck the light out of the area.
How To Get the Second Light Source
Once you have the first light, you might think you’re ready to enter the station. However, you’ll need a second light source to proceed. Near the main station, use your Angel Lamp to reveal some steps leading up to a bridge. Cross the tracks and find a ladder leading up. Go through the door with the lamp above it go down some stairs, and through the open door on your left, and you’ll find a save room. Save your game and head back outside.
Turn left and take the first right up the stairs, following a yellow arrow. Take a left, through the door, down the stairs to find yourself back at ground level. Look for a yellow taxi with its headlights on. Use your Angel Lamp to suck the light out, transforming the taxi into a cop car.
Return to Caldera St. Station Entrance
Return to the Caldera St. Station with both light sources. Use the first light to reveal the stairway going up, and the second light to illuminate the stairway going down inside the station lobby. This will reveal the door to the platform, allowing you to use your subway pass to enter.
