Today’s free Epic Games Store game has been revealed, and it should be a fun one for cat lovers: it’s 2017’s adorable action RPG Cat Quest.
Created by Singaporean studio The Gentlebros, Cat Quest is an adventure in which you delve into dungeons, gather loot, and hone your melee combat and magic skills. It’s all yours on the Epic Games Store right now for nothin’ at all.
You’re also a cat, obviously, which means that if you’re looking for something to tide you over between Stray and Little Kitty, Big City, this could well be it.
Some of the places you’ll visit, according to the Cat Quest Steam page, include a “possessed town whose residents lust for obscene amounts of meat”, as well as “Bermewda’s Triangle” and the metropolis of Pawt City.
If you’re hankering for some good old-fashioned Diablo-style action RPG…well…action, then Cat Quest ought to oblige, and hey, it’s free, so you’re not losing much by picking it up!
Cat Quest is just the latest in a string of free games Epic has been offering as part of its now-customary holiday season, wherein a new game is offered each day over the festive period.
The free Epic Store bonanza this year kicked off with DNF Duel, followed by idle RPG Melvor Idle and meditative racer Art of Rally.
After that, Bethesda’s open-world epic Fallout 3 was available for free for a single day, with Ghostwire: Tokyo taking the free game spot for Christmas Eve.
Epic’s Christmas present to expectant players on Christmas Day was The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition, which packs in the base game and all of its DLC.
Boxing Day’s offering was the sinister puzzler Human Resource Machine, and yesterday, the spooky golfing roguelike Cursed to Golf graced the free slot.
A new free game will be up for grabs via the Epic Games Store tomorrow, so be sure to keep an eye out for that. Until then, make sure to go grab Cat Quest if it sounds like your jam.
