Ever since the initial launch of MW3, Activision and Sledgehammer Games have continually bombarded their player base with a steady stream of operator skins, and that trend won’t stop any time soon with the impending launch of Season 2. Though specific details remain scarce on the upcoming season’s new content, a recent Call of Duty Instagram post may have already given players a hint at one of the latest characters set to grace the bullet-strewn battlefields of the newest CoD entry: Kate Laswell.
Of course, with the MW3 Season 2 release date still a handful of weeks away and developers yet to confirm its launch, let alone new features, you’ll need to take the following details with a grain of salt, like always. However, it is worth noting that the CoD publisher’s accidental tease of Kate Laswell as one of the game’s alleged upcoming operators came in a now-deleted Instagram post, so Activision may announce her arrival sooner rather than later.
According to an X (formerly Twitter) post from CoD news aggregator CharlieIntel, the official Call of Duty Instagram account had apparently posted an image containing profiles of various MW3 operators, including Ghost, Captain Price, Graves, Gaz, and Lazwell. Now, avid CoD players are already familiar with the first four since they’ve been in the game since the beginning, leaving the latter as the odd one out.
Unsurprisingly, fan reaction hasn’t been entirely positive, as some players continue to experience operator fatigue with the game’s already massive roster. On the other hand, another player wants a completely different character to join the fray after asking Activision and Sledgehammer Games to “give us Master Chief” instead.
Unfortunately, as mentioned before, neither Activision nor Sledgehammer Games have yet to confirm Lazwell’s impending arrival after Season 1 Reloaded only recently began.
