A majority of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) believe Vice President Kamala Harris will be more effective than former President Donald Trump on all issues, a new poll shows.

Monday's poll by AAPI Data and the Associated Press showed Harris leading Trump even on issues where other demographics favor the former president, such as the economy and immigration. Harris leads on these issues 41%-34% and 42%-35%, respectively.

Harris also has a slight edge in crime of 39-33%. But he crushes Trump on his most popular issues. AAPI adults support abortion by a 65-16% margin over Harris; 64%–15% on race and inequality and 59%–19% on health care.

The AP conducted the poll Sept. 3-9, polling 1,123 AAPI adults online and by phone in a variety of languages. The poll gives a margin of error of 4.7%.

Monday's poll is what other polls show Trump does benefits from black men, who have traditionally been among the Democratic Party's most reliable supporters.

OBAMA, LOVING HARRIS, HAS SOME TARGETS AT Trump

Progress is met with backlash from Democrats, and last week former President Barack Obama admonished Black men for their lack of enthusiasm for Harris. On Monday, Harris' campaign also announced an “Agenda of Opportunity for Black Men,” aimed at improving the financial and career prospects of black men.

Obama, speaking Thursday at Harris' campaign office in Pittsburgh, he referred to the surge in support among black voters that pushed him toward victory in 2008 and becoming the nation's first black president. He bluntly said he couldn't understand why Harris didn't have the same enthusiasm, noting that the hesitation was “more apparent with the brothers.”

PRO-TRUMP BLACK GROUP ATTACKS OBAMA

“You come up with all kinds of reasons and excuses,” Obama said. – I have a problem with this.

Addressing black men directly, the former president said that “part of me thinks that, well, you just don't feel comfortable with the idea of a woman being president and you come up with other alternatives and other reasons why.”

“President Obama's recent call for Black men to support Kamala Harris solely because of her skin color, not her policies, is deeply offensive,” the Black Men for Trump advisory board argued this weekend.
