Recently, CMON Interactive launched a crowdfunding campaign for A Song of Ice & Fire: Tactics, a game based on George R.R. Martin’s fantasy series. Less than seven hours after it went live, the campaign reached its initial funding goal.
The A Song of Ice & Fire: Tactics Gamefound campaign
According to its Gamefound campaign page, A Song of Ice & Fire: Tactics is a two-player tactical skirmish miniatures game. Players can control characters from A Song of Ice & Fire, engage in fast-paced skirmish gameplay, spend coin to recruit iconic characters, and experience legendary conflicts.
The initial release of A Song of Ice & Fire: Tactics will include the Battle of the Trident Skirmish Set. As the name implies, it will let players recreate the iconic battle between House Baratheon and the Targaryens.
For House Targaryen, the set contains 12 detailed miniatures, 13 unit cards, and four Targaryen-themed dice. The miniatures include named characters like Rhaegar Targaryen, Lewyn Martell, and Lyn Corbray.
Alternatively, House Baratheon contains 12 miniatures, 13 cards, and four dice branded with the house’s heraldry. Miniatures for this faction include Robert Baratheon, Jon Arryn, Roose Bolton, and Eddard Stark.
Lastly, Battle of the Trident contains 6 double-sided terrain tiles, 30 terrain tokens, 5 terrain overlays, 10 agenda cards, 10 objective cards, 6 round tracker tokens, 15 equipment tokens, 56 coin tokens, 8 nemesis tokens, 14 victory tokens, 6 objective tokens, 14 condition tokens, and 15 damage tokens.
In addition, the campaign for A Song of Ice & Fire: Tactics includes several expansions, stretch goals and add-ons. The biggest one is aptly called Drogon’s Fury. This crowdfunding exclusive expansion contains a giant Drogon miniature, 5 body cards, 21 action cards, several large-scale terrain cards, and four exclusive scenarios.
Finally, if you have played A Song of Ice & Fire TMG, the miniatures in that game are fully compatible and in scale.
There are three different pledge levels for A Song of Ice & Fire: Tactics. They are as follows:
- Pledge Without Borders for $60: The Battle of the Trident set with no stretch goals.
- Sworn Brother for $80: The Battle of the Trident set and all unlocked stretch goals.
- Dracarys! for $260: The Battle of the Trident set, all unlocked stretch goals, and Drogon’s Fury expansion and diorama.
The campaign for A Song of Ice & Fire: Tactics launched with a funding goal of $300,000. That goal was reached in six hours and forty-five minutes. At writing, the campaign has raised $602,719, more than double the initial goal. The campaign concludes February 22.
