Country-pop singer Twinnie-Lee Moore is moving Nashville to the Yorkshire countryside as she joins the cast of Emmerdale.

The singer, 37, who previously starred in Hollyoaks takes on the exciting new role and will make her first screen appearance on Friday 11 October.

Twinney said he had 'a lot of fun' on set as Jade transformed into an ambitious and ruthless boxing promoter.

With Billy Fletcher (Jay Kantsley) already drawn into the dark world of unlicensed boxing, Jade's arrival will pressure him to pursue this dangerous trade.

But Jade has an agenda and Billy's safety isn't on it. He's tempted by Jade's offer and the financial promises that come with it, but he's also aware of the dangerous consequences it can bring.

In the months to come, will Billy regret his association with Jade or has he already put his family in grave danger?

Twinnie said of her new role: 'My life has been a bit crazy lately with music and acting back and forth between Nashville and Yorkshire, but I'm loving it!!

'I loved being back on screen, especially as the show was filmed in Yorkshire, it was amazing to be able to be at home with the family and work on such an iconic show!

'The whole team is very welcoming and very supportive. My character is really fun and I can't wait to see how the audience reacts to him.'

Twinnie previously played Nicky Alcott in Doctors, which aired on BBC One in 2013, before joining Hollyoaks as Borce McQueen in 2014.

Her character highlighted issues of child sexual abuse, while her other storylines included a failed marriage when her husband had various affairs.

Twinnie left Hollyoaks in October 2015, with footage of her exit airing on Christmas Eve that year.

For her role, Twinny was nominated for a British Soap Award for Best Newcomer and an Inside Soap Award.
