I have been relatively lucky throughout my travelling life. I haven’t ended up in too many horrible hotel rooms, but we have all heard horror stories that leave us thinking, ‘I could run a hotel better than this.’ In 2019, My.Games put out Grand Hotel Mania to allow people to prove this, and boy did the people turn out.
Since its launch, Grand Hotel Mania has racked up over 22 million installs, which is quite an impressive number. In addition, the lifetime revenue has exceeded one hundred million dollars, truly showing that simulation games are here to stay. And no doubt plastering a big smile on the developer’s face.
To celebrate the success, there is now a new feature, at least for players in the US – hopefully, it gets a worldwide rollout. You can now take charge of Premium Hotels, which are more high-class locations. To unlock these you must collect keys by completing in-game activities, or simply cough up some cash to purchase a special offer, which comes with additional bonuses.
The latest premium hotel you can manage is based in London, England, and is called Claridge’s. You will team up with the two main characters, Monica and Ted, to deliver a 5-star experience. This includes managing the check-in and check-out process and preparing some delicious dishes. The premium hotels offer meals such as Natural Fruit Juice, Salmon Tartare, Shrimp Cocktails, and the most luxurious of items; Lemonade with ice.
There is also a new hotel map feature which will allow you to view all the hotels already owned, as well as those you have yet to visit, which includes the Premium ones. Here you can have a look at all the hotels that will be available to add to your portfolio because you unlock them through the traditional unlocking through levels.
