Ready at Dawn Studios shut down by Meta

Ready at Dawn Studios has been shuttered by parent company Meta, the virtual reality publisher announced today.

Originally founded back in 2003 as an independent game development studio, Ready at Dawn was long a collaborator with Sony on several titles exclusive to their platforms like Daxter and The Order: 1886 (pictured above).

Comprised of former Naughty Dog and Blizzard Entertainment developers, the studio was located in Irvine, California and was eventually acquired by Meta in 2020. After that acquisition they pivoted to mostly focus on virtual reality titles like the Lone Echo series.

Another report via Android Central claims that Meta is trying to relocate affected staff to other teams within Oculus Studios.
