Avowed Will be Delayed to Early 2025 – Rumour

There’s a bevy of major first-party Xbox releases lined up over the course of the next several months, though it seems one of them in particular is going to be pushed by by a little bit into the early months of next year.

As per The Verge’s Tom Warren, Microsoft and Obsidian Entertainment are gearing up to announce that Avowed has been delayed into early 2025. The fantasy RPG is officially set to release this fall, with previous leaks (and an accidental announcement from Obsidian itself) having pegged it for a November launch.

As per Warren, however, with upcoming Xbox console exclusive S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl having now been delayed into November from its previously planned September release, Microsoft is looking to free up some space in its release schedule. Behind the scenes, Avowed is allegedly “in good shape”, with this delay being more about giving all upcoming major Xbox exclusives room to breathe.

Microsoft has several significant releases lined up for 2024, including Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred, Starfield: Shattered Space, Towerborne, Ara: History Untold, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

The company has confirmed that it will be sharing new information on Avowed at Gamescom, so it’s likely that that’s where its delay will be announced. Stay tuned for more updates.
