The First Descendant came out earlier this month and it has quickly gathered a huge fanbase. TFD has become extremely popular whether it’s down to all the bubbly cake on screen or the addictive gameplay loop that players are enjoying. Nexon has done a terrific job communicating with fans, and The First Descendant game director has revealed some big changes incoming with a new update “next week”.

You can check out the update 1.0.3 patch notes to see the latest fixes from Nexon. This update is notable for addressing the AFK controversy with promises to crack down on it more in the future. Fans have lavishly praised Nexon, dubbing them “based as hell,” and players have also recently discovered that, for PC, higher frame rate results in more damage dished out as well as received back.

The First Descendant has mostly been fantastic since launch, and Nexon are committed to improving the experience. They have done a good job with consistent updates so far, and players can expect a new hotfix “next week” with some fun changes.

The First Descendant changes for new update

The First Descendant game director, Minseok Joo, has shared a new message to players in regard to strategic outpost. Shared on the game’s official Discord, the message acknowledges “Valby Run; Strategic Outpost farming using Valby, is currently taking place at the Outpost within The Fortress”.

This exploit was not intended on Nexon’s part, and, due to Nexon’s mistake, “Mobs at The Fortress Outpost have been respawning infinitely”. This has resulted in the amount of item drops increasing by 2-3 times higher than at other locations.

While most developers would simply revert the issue, Nexon has committed to not removing “the newly discovered content” because “Valby Run became popular very quickly within our community”. Instead of removing the popular exploit, Nexon is “preparing a patch that will update other farming locations to match the efficiency, equivalent to The Fortress Outpost”.

This is fantastic news for The First Descendant community. Not only is Nexon not removing the Valby Run farming exploit at The Fortress Outpost, they’re also buffing other farming locations to match its efficiency.

The above change will occur in hotfix update 1.0.4 “next week”. Per the game director, “The main purpose for patch 1.0.4 is to reduce the cool time for Vulgus Strategic Outpost and rebalance the locations for collecting Void Fragments. Also, we’re planning to diversify methods for Gold supply by enhancing Gold efficiency within Special Operations”.

Lastly, the director has said, “As we continue our live service for The First Descendant, we have no plan to respond by simply nerfing certain content, for any game play which collides with our intentions. We respect every content created by our players and will do our best to create a game that all players can enjoy together for a long time”.

We know the update is coming “next week,” but there’s no mention of a specific day. Although there’s no date, it could be July 25th as both updates 1.0.2 and 1.0.3 came out on Thursday.
