HoYoverse has announced the beginning of a brand new adventure in Genshin Impact, as the brand-new summer map Simulanka will be opening its down on July 17th. The Summertide Scales and Tales Version 4.8 update will bring new outfits, a new recruit, and of course a lot of exploration to do.
Simulanka is a place populated by clockwork characters, origami creatures, and all manner of other wondrous inhabitants. You will get to know it all in-depth thanks to the multiple seasonal events that will take place. There are mini-games such as shooting balloons in Boreal Flurry or those damnable Flying Hatter’s Trick claw machines.
By completing these mini-games you will get Starsail Coins to trade for a host of figurines, displayable on Good Shelves throughout Simulanka. You can also show them off in the Serenitea Pot. Get enough figures, and you will also recruit Kirara for free. When you do, why not pick up her new burglar-themed outfit by collecting Excerpts of Bliss by exploring Simulanka? You can also pick up Nilou’s floral-themed garb at a limited-time discount from the store.
Simulanka also brings with it an opportunity to recruit the five-star Dendro polearm user Emilie. If you have a soft spot for pyromania then this is the one for you as she deals more damage to burning enemies. She uses a mechanic called Lumidouce Case that intermittently deals Dendro damage. You can play her Story Quest, Pomum de Ambra Chapter, to get to know the woman behind the case.
There will also be a few gameplay changes. The cooldown for World Bosses that cost 40 Original Resin has been cut right down to 10 seconds for ease of farming, and a way to dump that excess Resin. Encounter Points can now be stored for later Daily Commission use, and new Long-Term Encounter Points can be converted from access points to then change back at a later date. These Long-Term points reset at every .0 update, however, i.e. Version 5.0.
