Good morning, and welcome to RedState’s “Morning Minute” — a brief glimpse at which stories are trending at the moment and a look ahead at what the day may bring. Consider this your one-stop shop for news to kickstart your day.
TOP O’ THE MORNIN’
WATCH: Trump Campaign Releases Brutal Ads on Kamala Harris As the Heir Apparent to Biden
The Democrats only mention democracy as a scare tactic, yet don’t want to give the voters a chance to hear from people with varying opinions and go as far as trying to keep candidates from appearing on the ballot.
Biden’s Handlers Release a New Video, and It’s a Five-Alarm Fire Moment
This White House has nothing left. There is no secret plan ready to be executed that will usher in victory. Biden and his handlers, including his elder-abusing wife, have nowhere else to go.
Former WH Photographer Spills the Beans, Details How Biden Aides Hide His Decline From the Public
The thing about a dam is, once it breaks there’s not a whole lot you can do about it but get out of the way and wait for everything to come out.
WHAT’S ON TAP?
Today on Capitol Hill…
It will be quiet on the Hill this week, with the Fourth of July holiday. No meetings or hearings are set until July 9. Right now, progressives are still mewling about the Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) primary loss to George Latimer, and Democratic senators are circling their wagons around Joe Biden’s flailing campaign (and presidency).
White House What’s Up
Speaking of the president, he’s set to remain at Camp David on Monday (following the rumored “family meeting” over the weekend), then return to the White House in the evening.
Full Court Press…
This is it — the last day of SCOTUS opinions. There’s a pair of cases involving the First Amendment and the states of Texas and Florida’s attempts to restrict content moderation by online platforms (the NetChoice cases), one involving when a claim first accrues under the Administrative Procedure Act (Corner Post v. Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System)…and the Big One: Trump v. USA regarding the scope of presidential immunity. Have your fire extinguishers at the ready for there is sure to be lots of hair set afire mid-morning.
MORNING MUSING
How the heck did we end up in July already? And why do I get the sense that even though it’s a holiday week and we’re done with Supreme Court decisions after today, things won’t be quiet from a news coverage standpoint? That’s one of those “Be careful what you wish for” things, though, I suppose. It would be nice to be able to take a breath and relax for a beat. But never fear, Dear Readers — I’ve a sneaking suspicion we’ll have no shortage of things to talk about here on the pages of RedState. Hopefully, the holiday is affording you the opportunity to kick back a bit, though.
LIGHTER FARE
I would, too.
