The 2024 PlayX4 B2B is kicking off tomorrow in Ilsan, lasting until the 26th in KINTEX Hall 1, and Octopo Studio has announced that they will be making an appearance. Shooting RPG Bounty Pang will be on show as the developers seek publishing partners following a successful tech launch in February.
There are a few video game titles that even if you haven’t played them, you know the name, and in the mobile gaming sphere especially, one of those is Brawl Stars. Octopo Studios’ COO, Woohyun Kim, was one of the minds behind this hit for Supercell and is backed by 32 other talented workers as the studio is knee-deep in their first development project.
Bounty Pang is a shooting RPG that features a top-down, almost bullet-hell-styled gameplay view. Taking a seat at the bottom of the screen, you will be charged with preventing an enemy that is rushing towards you from the sky from passing by you. You are equipped with your trusty bow, and you will need to learn how to handle it well.
As you progress through the story and encounter tougher and tougher bosses, you will need to start upgrading and equipping better armor and weapons to keep you up to scratch. These come with some special abilities to master, and luckily shooting things pays pretty well, so you should be able to rack up quite the collection.
Bounty Pang serves as Octopos’ first development project, along with their usual fare of providing VFX services for a number of global clients. They are aiming to release this game by the end of the year, and from then, have stated a desire to establish a more constant game development process. Bounty Pang will serve as an interesting first outing, so look out for any announcements after the 2024 PlayX4 B2B.
