May has been a fantastic month for PlayStation subscribers. The Essential offerings were fantastic, and we are only now just getting the Extra additions that include the magnificent Red Dead Redemption 2. While it’s been a marvelous month for PS Plus subscribers, there is always the hope that next month is just as good, if not better. Here you will find the PS Plus June 2024 games reveal date along with exciting leaks and when the current Essential giveaways will be leaving.
While it’s natural to always look ahead to the future, there are rumors that there will be a PlayStation Showcase before the end of May. It’s not confirmed by Sony as of yet, but, if the event does happen, there are rumors that we will see more of PS5 console exclusive, Silent Hill 2. In addition to this possible showcase, it’s believed that the new Call of Duty will be revealed before it is shown off at the Xbox showcase next month.
We desperately hope the rumored PlayStation showcase event does become reality, but, in regard to Sony’s subscription service, we do know that the PS Plus June 2024 games will be revealed soon. No additions are confirmed yet, but an alleged leak points to a return to the final days of cowboys and outlaws.
PS Plus June 2024 games reveal date
The PS Plus June 2024 Essential games should be revealed on May 29th. The next batch of Essential offerings is always revealed one Wednesday before the next crop of announced giveaways come out. Sony’s PlayStation Blog post confirms that the next Essential selection will be released on June 4th.
As for Extra and Premium, they should be announced on June 12th. Sony typically announces the Extra and Premium additions on Wednesday one week after the release of the Essentials.
PS Plus June 2024 leaks
A possible leak for PS Plus in June 2024 is the arrival of Red Dead Redemption 1 for Premium. Red Dead Redemption 2 officially joins Extra on May 21st, but an alleged leak points to John Marston’s story joining the subscription service, too.
Taking to the GamingLeaksAndRumors subreddit, user Timtendo12 claims to have “found a string in the RDR site, which seemingly confirms the game coming to PS Premium and gamepass”. The string in the screenshot provided by the OP states “Available for Nintendo Switch, PS3, PlayStation Plus Premium for PS4 and PS5, Xbox 360, and Xbox Game Pass for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S”.
It’s by no means official that Red Dead Redemption 1 is joining either PS Plus or Game Pass next month, but finger’s crossed as it is a brilliant classic. In addition to RDR, PSDeals has listed PS2 classic Star Wars The Clone Wars for release next month.
The site specifically notes its release date as June 11th, 2024, which would be earlier than expected for the Extra and Premium additions next month, but it’s possible it could be added early or that the noted release date is wrong. Either that or we might not be getting Star Wars The Clone Wars at all.
Games leaving
Before next month comes about, make sure to claim the current PS Plus Essential giveaways. The games on offer right now will leave on the below dates:
- Ghostrunner 2 – June 3rd
- Tunic – June 3rd
- Destiny 2 Lightfall – June 3rd
- EA Sports FC 24 – June 18th
There’s no explanation for why EA Sports FC 24 is expiring a couple weeks after the three other giveaways, but all of the above dates are confirmed by Sony.
