A new update is now out for The Finals after it was slightly delayed. It is a patch full of many ingredients such as the transformation of glitch barrels into carriable objects along with significant improvements for melee weapons. Unfortunately though, the new The Finals update has resulted in the game crashing on start-up for many users, and the devs have stated that they are working to deliver a fix.
You can check out the full update 2.8.0 patch notes to see of all the changes and fixes implemented by Embark. In addition, you should know that there is a new community event going on right now with players able to unlock a cute new reward for free.
While this week’s update is full of great tweaks, fixes, and improvements, the unfortunate news is that it is causing the game to crash for many players. Hopefully a fix will be provided as soon as possible as the developers are hard at work right now.
The Finals update is causing game to crash
Following the release of The Finals update 2.8.0, many users have taken to the game’s Discord to report that the game is now crashing on start-up. Below is a screenshot from our own experience:
In response to all of the feedback online, Embark Oscar has posted in the Discord that ‘We’ve seen the reports of the game crashing on start-up after the update for some players, and we’re on it! I will keep you all updated as we work through this issue, please be patient while we dig into it’.
