The Democratic Detonation Premium Warbond was released in Helldivers 2 earlier this week and so far the response has been underwhelming, with some players calling the weapons “absolutely garbage.” Some players did point out that opinions would likely change over the coming week as more players get a chance to check out the weapons, and that looks to be the case now as one Helldiver has found a great potential use for the Grenade Pistol as a secondary weapon.
U/The_Real_Kru took to Reddit to share their use for the new Grenade Pistol which was added as part of the recently released Democratic Detonation Premium Warbond.
“The best use of the grenade pistol is freeing up your ‘nade slot. I used to run impact grenades exclusively because they were better than any other option by a vast margin and did great when clearing bug holes and factories. Since I got the pistol, I can use that and switch my grenades to stuns. This has enabled me to kill Hulks and Chargers and whatnot way more effectively. Stuns have gotten me out of a nasty situation so many times I lost count, and interest in other grenades.”
If you’re not a player that switches to your secondary weapon often, this could be a great way to carry two different types of Grenade items, such as the Stun Grenade, without sacrificing one of your Stratagems for a Grenade Launcher. When the Democratic Detonation Premium Warbond was first released it seemed as if the weapons were going to be underwhelming and wouldn’t become part of any meta for the game. But, it looks like this could be the first use case for the Grenade Pistol and it will be interesting to see whether this becomes part of many Helldiver’s loadout in the future.
