Palworld fans have an exciting year ahead of them. Not only has Pocketpair revealed that a major update is incoming for the summer, but we have now seen our first tease of PvP Arena. PvP Arena looks fantastic as a multiplayer epic clash of the titans, but the Palworld developer has confirmed ‘sad’ news that may disappoint some of the community.
Pocketpair previously touted the PvP Arena release window for summer, but they clarified that this was a mistake. Instead of multiplayer player-vs-player battles coming out as soon as initially stated, we are getting a summer update that will add new weapons, buildings, and more species of pals. This is all part of the roadmap that the developer shared at the beginning of the game’s early access release.
The identities of many new bosses and pals have already possibly leaked, and PvP Arena looks fantastic from the short teaser shared by the developer. However, although it looks great, the developer has confirmed that you will not be able to participate solo.
Palworld dev confirms PvP Arena is multiplayer only
Community manager Bucky_cm has stated on the official Pocketpair Discord that players will not be able to fight NPCs in the Arena. This was in response to a query about whether Palworld PvP will be multiplayer only.
This suggests that the mode will be multiplayer only with no alternative option for solo players. The user asking the question replied ‘damn that’s sad,’ meanwhile, another user said ‘I guess I will never get to use the arena because I’m a solo player’.
In addition to confirming it’s multiplayer only, Bucky_cm also highlighted that ‘the arena has nothing to do with the overall lore of Palworld’. It will be ‘totally optional,’ and ‘It’s just a goofy idea to let players beat each other up’.
The lack of solo play may be disappointing, but it’s not entirely unexpected and the new mode still looks fantastic. It should be fun multiplayer chaos and we cannot wait to duke it out with other players.

There is still no word yet as to whether the game will come to PlayStation consoles, although we think this is highly unlikely.
