Bethesda has gained a reputation for crafting dense and immersive worlds, and a new chart showcases an interesting comparison between Starfield, Skyrim, and Fallout 4‘s quests. Through the years, Bethesda has brought some great games to life, and the many quests offered in each title serve as an example of how large these worlds can be.
When it comes to open world experiences, Bethesda has become one of the top developers in the genre. Longtime fans of the developer have become familiar with the Bethesda formula, but the diversity of the worlds offered by its different franchises provides interesting new stories. The studio brought large open worlds to the next level with Skyrim, and since then, the studio has become well known by many gamers for how in-depth the world building can be. Four years after Skyrim, Fallout 4 followed, bringing Bethesda another success. The most recent game to come from the studio is last year’s Starfield, pushing Bethesda’s expansive worlds even further.

In honor of the premiere of Amazon Prime’s live-action Fallout adaptation, Fallout 76 is now free to play for a very short time.
A new chart created by Reddit user JarusinTheStars details every quest in Starfield, Skyrim, and Fallout 4 provides a fascinating comparison of each world Bethesda has created. Bethesda has an impressive roster of games, but these three are some of the most notable in the studio’s history.
Quests in Starfield, Skyrim, and Fallout 4
Starfield
- Starfield has 19 main story quests, but the game’s side missions and quests quickly bring that number to over 200.
Fallout 4
- The base version of Fallout 4 contains 191 quests.
Skyrim
- Skyrim boasts an impressive 273 quests.
When playing these games, it’s easy to feel the sometimes overwhelming size of these worlds, but seeing them broken down into charts gives an entirely new perspective of each game. Not only do these charts prove the sheer vastness of the games in question, but they also give a helpful breakdown of main quests, faction missions, and side quests that can be pursued by players. Some of Bethesda’s most notable games are filled with content, and these charts provide some great proof.
Although Starfield hasn’t yet reached the heights of Skyrim or Fallout 4, this quest chart is a great demonstration of how focused the studio is on putting a lot of content into each game. With the recent release of the Fallout TV series, it’s clear that Bethesda is well-versed in crafting lore-rich worlds that have many different corners to explore. It currently remains a mystery when the next Bethesda game will be released, but future titles on the roster are likely to offer even more quests for players.
