Merge Games and developer RainyGames have announced the SunnySide release date, and it won’t be too long until you can get your hands on another cozy farming sim.
Per an official Steam announcement, SunnySide will launch for PC on May 24th, and a console release on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S is planned for July 10th.
It doesn’t look like the game will be making its way to previous-gen consoles, and a Nintendo Switch version doesn’t seem to be on the cards either, so you’ll have to pick this one up on Steam or current-gen machines if you want to play it.
SunnySide was originally announced back in 2022 and was also slated for release that year, but it was subsequently delayed, putting it on track for a 2024 release instead.
The game, which looks to share more than a little of its DNA with games like Palia and Team17’s Hokko Life, will put you in charge of your very own farm. As is the case with many other games in this genre, you’ll grow crops, care for animals, and build relationships with the locals.
RainyGames says SunnySide has a focus on modernization; it’s all about trying to use modern tech to make your time on the farm easier, all while setting aside time to immerse yourself in the local community and its values.

Admittedly, SunnySide is launching into a pretty saturated market when it comes to cozy farming sims, but its lo-fi art style and focus on technology should help it stand out from the crowd.
In any case, you’ll be able to decide for yourself whether it can carve out a niche when SunnySide launches on PC via Steam on May 24th and on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on July 10th.
