Today the Kickstarter campaign for Chaosium’s latest project, Horror on the Orient Express: The Board Game went live. The crowdfunding campaign for this board game adaptation of the Call of Cthulhu TTRPG was fully funded within ten minutes.
The Horror on the Orient Express: The Board Game Kickstarter
According to its campaign page, Horror on the Orient Express: The Board Game is a cooperative game where players try to survive on a doomed train. 1-4 players take on the roles of investigators in the 1920s exploring the famous Orient Express.
While on this train, investigators will hunt down a cult trying to perform a hideous ritual.To this end players will move between the six train cars, develop new skills, gather items, talk to passengers, gather clues, and ultimately decide the train’s fate.
The board game attempts to bring the award-winning Call of Cthulhu TTRPG into an accessible tabletop experience. It will feature special rules, ongoing character development, as well as challenging setpieces that test the strength and sanity of the players.
Horror on the Orient Express: The Board Game is being developed by several industry veterans. It is being developed by Adam Kwapiński (Frostpunk: The Board Game) and Michał Gołąb Gołębiowski (Destinies) with artwork by Aleksander Zawada and Anna Jarmołowsk.

Within ten minutes of the campaign going live, Horror on the Orient Express: The Board Game reached its initial funding goal of $50,000. At time of writing it has raised $338,861, almost seven times its initial goal. The campaign concludes April 19.
