Palia: Best Locations For Fishing
While there are countless spots to cast a line in Palia, a few of them stand out. These are the best locations for fishing in the game.
Players can hunt nine different animals, including chapaa, sernuk, and muujin. Each creature possesses unique characteristics that make them both captivating and evasive. Knowing their locations and behaviors is crucial for hunters looking to claim rare resources. Explore the top hunting destinations where one can use their sharp arrows and keen senses to pursue adventure, glory, and the ultimate thrill of the hunt.
1 Leafhopper Hills – Kilima
Animal: Spotted Chapaa
- Can be found in Kilima or Bahari Bay
- Arrows: one hit with any arrow
- Drops: Fur, Chapaa Meat, Spotted Chapaa Tail
Chapaas are adorable little creatures that roam around Kilima and Bahari Bay in large quantities. The western side of Kilima is crawling with them, especially in the area between Leafhopper Hills and Mirror Fields. They are the easiest animals to hunt in Palia because they only require one hit with any arrow.
These animals are quite fearful of humans. When startled, they will run for a bit before burrowing in the dirt and disappearing. Approach chapaas carefully and have a steady aim to successfully down them. They typically drop fur and chapaa meat, along with a rarely spotted chapaa tail if lucky. Spotted chapaa tails are often requested by Kenli as a gift for boosting friendship.
2 Kilima Village – Kilima
Animal: Striped Chapaa
- Can be found in Kilima or Bahari Bay
- Arrows: two Standard Arrows
- Drops: Fur, Chapaa Meat, Striped Chapaa Tail
The fields east of Kilima Village are the best places to spot a striped chapaa. Their appearance and behavior are similar to the regular chapaa, but they have double the health. This, of course, means double the arrows. Craft a handful of standard arrows and equip them at a fair distance away from rogue striped chapaas. It will take at least two hits to be felled.
If the striped chapaa is startled, it may bolt away. Being aware of the surrounding area and maintaining a close distance from the chapaa can help ensure that the arrows strike the animal successfully. Keep the focus bar full and hunt with friends to gain hunting skills faster.
3 Pulsewater Plains – Bahari Bay
Animal: Azure Chapaa
- Can only be found in Bahari Bay
- Arrows: four Standard Arrows or three Fine Arrows
- Drops: Fur, Chapaa Meat, Azure Chapaa Tail
Azure Chapaas are unique critters of the chapaa species with special abilities that make them difficult to capture. They can be found in the southeast portion of Bahari Bay, near Pulsewater Plains. If players get too close or miss their shot, the azure chapaa can split into three duplicates to defend itself. Striking a clone will not do any damage to the true azure chapaa. It will vanish in a cloud of dust.
Palia: Best Locations For Mining
Players should keep the following locations in mind while exploring Palia’s map to net some valuable ore.
This overpowering ability can be disabled by using Dispel Arrows. Slowdown Arrows can also help players identify the original azure chapaa. Use the fur and chapaa meat from these chapaas for cooking and crafting. Chapaa meat is a key ingredient for Chapaa Masala and Akwinduu Chapaa, which are some of the best meals for gaining focus.
4 Whispering Banks – Kilima
Animal: Sernuk
- Can be found in Kilima and Bahari Bay
- Arrows: two Makeshift Arrows OR one Standard Arrow
- Drops: Sernuk Meat, Sernuk Antler, Sernuk Hide
Sernuks are another species that can be hunted in Palia. They are deer-like creatures slightly more difficult to catch than chapaas due to their health and speed. Although they can be spotted in both Kilima and Bahari Bay, the majority of them spawn around Whispering Banks. They enjoy munching on grass and drinking from the rivers on the eastern border of Kilima’s map.
It takes at least two Makeshift Arrows to drop a sernuk, or one shot with a Standard Arrow if players have progressed in the story far enough to obtain the Standard Arrow recipe. Sernuk hides, which are occasionally dropped from sernuks, can be used to craft leather in the fabric loom.
5 Flooded Steps – Bahari Bay
Animal: Elder Sernuk
- Can only be found in Bahari Bay
- Arrows: four Fine Arrows
- Drops: Sernuk Meat, Proudhorned Sernuk Antlers, Sernuk Hide
The northwest portion of the map bordering the Flooded Fortress and The Outskirts is known as the Flooded Steps. It is the location of a Stormseeker Medallion, but it is also the place where fans can find an elder sernuk. They are similar in appearance to normal sernuk but can be identified by their black legs and light brown streaks on their fur.
It takes at least four Fine Arrows to successfully hunt an elder sernuk. Upon startling or striking this sernuk, it will bolt away until it feels safe enough to go idle. Follow and deliver repeated blows to the same elder sernuk to complete the hunt. Elder sernuk antlers are a rare drop that can come from this hunt. They are said to be used for decoration and medicine, but they are also good for crafting a Hunter’s Horn – a tool for tracking rare animals in the area.
6 Proudhorn Pass – Bahari Bay
Animal: Proudhorn Sernuk
- Can only be found in Bahari Bay
- Arrows: three Standard Arrows OR two Fine Arrows
- Drops: Sernuk Meat, Elder Sernuk Antlers, Sernuk Hide
The highest-tier sernuk is called the proudhorn sernuk, named after the Proudhorn Pass where they are often found. This rare version of sernuk has the same gray-blue color as the azure chapaa. Hunting down this specific sernuk is required to complete Sifuu’s level three friendship quest. If players complete this quest and reach level four friendship with Sifuu, they can choose her as their shepp.
Palia: 10 Coolest Outfits & How Much They Cost
Singularity’s Palia is a charming and relaxing farming sim, and players can role-play in style by picking up these outfits.
Proudhorn Pass is full of hills and cliffs, so players on the hunt should try to corner a proudhorn sernuk into the cliff bases. This way, it will be easier to predict its movements and get a better shot. If a threat is detected, the proudhorn sernuk can teleport far away from hunters, making it extremely difficult to deliver repeated damage. Using a Dispel Arrow can prevent a proudhorn sernuk from teleporting.
7 Statue Garden – Bahari Bay
Animal: Muujin
- Can only be found in Bahari Bay
- Arrows: two Standard Arrows OR one Fine Arrow
- Drops: Fur, Muujin Meat, Muujin Mane
Muujin are wild wolf-inspired creatures that can be found in Bahari Bay, but most often spawn near the Statue Garden or the northeast corner of the map. They saunter around the top layers of the cliffs, near trees. When startled, the muujin will sprint to the nearest tree and disappear into it.
Chopping down trees will release any hiding muujin, but their health will be reset, and they will immediately run toward the nearest tree. If possible, try to cut down trees in the area before attempting to hunt for muujin to keep the muujin grounded. Regular muujin require two Standard Arrows or one Fine Arrow to down them. Use the muujin meat from this species to cook Muujin Bahari, the most valuable recipe in Palia.
8 Thorny Thicket – Bahari Bay
Animal: Banded Muujin
- Can only be found in Bahari Bay
- Arrows: three Standard Arrows OR two Fine Arrows
- Drops: Fur, Muujin Meat, Banded Muujin Mane
At the northernmost point of the Bahari Bay map and close to Tamala’s house, players will find the Thorny Thicket. This is a beautiful area in Palia complete with fields of trees, cliffs, and waterfalls. Not only is it home to a hidden Emberseeker Medallion, but it is also the portion of the map where players can find the banded muujin.
Banded muujin are dark gray/blue with yellow eyes. They are slightly more difficult to hunt down than regular muujin due to their increased health. It takes at least three successful hits with a Standard Arrow or two hits from Fine Arrows to be felled. Banded muujin manes, which are rare drops from this species, can be used for gifting or sold to earn more gold.
9 The Outskirts – Bahari Bay
Animal: Bluebristle Muujin
- Can only be found in Bahari Bay
- Arrows: four Fine Arrows
- Drops: Fur, Muujin Meat, Bluebristle Muujin Mane
The third and final variation of the muujin species is known as the bluebristle muujin, often found in The Outskirts of Bahari Bay. This muujin is easily identifiable due to its bright white fur with icy blue tips and piercing blue eyes. Its behavior is similar to the other muujin types. It will search for medium-sized trees to hide from players who are on the hunt for them.
Much like other high-tiered animals in Palia, it might come in handy to arrive at The Outskirts with some Dispel and Slowdown Arrows. This will help slow down the bluebristle muujin and make it easier to damage with Fine Arrows. If players can get their hands on multiple bluebristle muujin manes, they can be a great source of wealth. They can be sold for 440 gold.
