Fighters can effectively switch between offensive and defensive gameplay in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Even as a starter Vocation, Fighters are unique in their combat playstyle. This Vocation can wield multiple weapons by carrying Shields and Swords/Maces. Having a shield on one hand to block enemies’ attacks is a cheat code in the early game.

Getting the best Shields and Swords/Maces is essential to carry Fighters throughout the early game into the later stages of Dragon’s Dogma 2. Most players might change Vocation by the time they reach midgame. However, if you’re one of the few who stick around with Fighters and still protect your team at all costs, here are the best weapons for Fighters in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

6 Honorable Mentions

Dread Aspis, Carnation, Dragon’s Dogma, and Dragon’s Aegis are weapons for Fighters that are only obtainable in the endgame of Dragon’s Dogma 2. Dread Aspis and Carnation can be found in any Merchant’s inventory for 38000 and 58500 Gold, respectively.

As for Dragon’s Dogma and Dragon’s Aegis, they can’t be bought with Gold since you can get them from The Dragonforged in the Bay Wayside Shrine, and he only trades with Wyrmslife Crystals. So, to get the best endgame weapons for Fighters in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you have to slay some drakes.

5 Continental Shield

Getting into the actual game content, one of the best midgame to endgame Shields for Fighters is the Continental Shield. It can be bought from multiple merchants for 17800 Gold and can be sold for 5940. The easiest Merchant to find who sells Continental Shield is Awaran from Awaran’s Arms in Bakbattahl. You can also start the Dulled Steel, Cold Forge quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2 to unlock the Brokkr’s Smithy and buy the Continental Shield from Sara. Finally, helping Gautstafr in his Put a Spring in Thy Step quest will unlock him as a Merchant south of Agamen Volcanic Island.

The Continental Shield has high stats for a weapon you can buy early in the game and that makes it a decent choice compared to other weapons in Dragon’s Dogma 2. It’s so good that you can carry it all the way to the endgame where fighting dragons becomes the daily job of the Arisen.

4 The Exalted

While The Exalted suffers from a very low Knockdown Power compared to other Fighter weapons in Dragon’s Dogma 2, it has a very high damage to make it up. It can be sold for 14600 Gold to any Merchant and can be bought back for 43800 Gold.

You can find The Exalted inside Drabnir’s Grotto in the southern region under Battahl. Be careful though, it’s easy to get lost inside the dungeon as it’s built like a maze, and it’s filled with monsters. There’s even an NPC in front of Drabnir’s Grotto to warn the Arisen not to enter it.

3 Stalwart Sword

Other than the endgame Swords, the Stalwart Sword is the best pre-endgame Sword for Fighters in Dragon’s Dogma 2. It costs 47200 Gold to buy from certain Merchants, and you can get 15740 Gold back if you sell it. Sara at Brokkr’s Smithy sells Stalwart Sword alongside Gautstafr and Beatrice from the Agamen Volcanic Island.

During combat, especially against big bosses, knocking them down is essential to allow your main character and other Pawns to inflict critical attacks against the target. Since Stalwart Sword has balanced stats between Strength and Knockdown Power, it offers what Fighters need to take down their foes and win their encounters in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

2 Dragon’s Faith

Dragon’s Faith is the best shield to get before the endgame in Dragon’s Dogma 2. It offers one of the highest Knockdown Power stats for Fighters, and the best part: it’s free to get. To get Dragon’s Faith, head to the Dragonsbreath Tower in the far southeast of Bakbattahl.

The shield is crafted from the magickal scales of dragons, but that doesn’t add any magical effect to it. It is still, however, a very useful Shield for Fighters in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

1 Molten Fury

Molten Fury isn’t only one of the best pre-endgame weapons in Dragon’s Dogma 2, it’s also a Mace that competes with the endgame weapons. To find and get Molten Fury, head to the Mountain Base Cave located south of Agamen Volcanic Island.

You can visit this cave as part of the Steeled Resolve, Blazing Forge quest. You can find Molten Fury inside a chest next to where you find Sara inside the Mountain Base Cave. The fire-infused Mace can be sold for 16270, which is not recommended, considering how powerful the Mace can be in the right hands.
