Letter to the editor: At least Liberals consistent

Article content

Health Minister Mark Holland has promised new restrictions on nicotine pouches to keep addictive products out of the hands of young Canadians.

Wow, the fractured reasoning of the Liberals is truly astounding. They condemn anything associated with tobacco as addictive products that must be kept out of the hands of young Canadians, but they legally allow vaping, consumption of lethal drugs and the smoking of legalized marijuana.

If nothing else, they remain consistent in their hypocrisy.

SO PASSIONATE

Health Minister Mark Holland is all indignant and upset about the tobacco industry targeting kids with certain products and tells them adamantly to “stay away from our kids.” How ironic. Too bad he doesn’t have the same passion about protecting vulnerable kids from schools and the Liberal/NDP government interfering in the gender transition and puberty blocker issue.

Most parents want the Liberal/NDP government to “leave their kids alone.”

SO MANY UNNECESSARY COSTS

Like another letter writer indicted, if consumers get back more than they pay in carbon tax, why have the tax in the first place? Unnecessary costs to taxpayers are a theme for this government, like the waste of money rebranding the tax credit. This government’s collusion — I mean coalition — is killing democracy. If the carbon tax hike goes into effect, I hope the rest of the country finally sees that our voices do not matter once elected officials take power. Hail Trudeau.

CLASSY CAROLINE

I was never a great fan of Brian Mulroney, but for historical purposes I watched the funeral. His daughter, Caroline, spoke of her father with such eloquence that one hung on her every word. Her steel composure was so impressive that few people could equal it. Doug Ford is very fortunate to have such a person in his cabinet.
