Helldivers 2 Patch 1.000.104 terminates terrible bug

There is always plenty going on if you’re a Helldivers 2 fan, with Patch 1.000.104 just the latest update to iron out some creases in the game. Since its release in February 2024, hundreds of thousands of players have jumped in to defend Super Earth from the Terminids and Automatons.

The previous Helldivers 2 Patch 1.000.103 addressed many much-needed fixes and balance issues. However, it also had some unintended consequences, making the fight a bit trickier.

Helldivers 2 Update

After the prior Helldivers 2 update on March 20 saw balances such as improvements for planetary hazards and patrol spawns, and fixes like the Exosuit no longer destroying itself when firing a missile while turning, another issue was spotted. It turned out that when players fire arcs from specific weapons and stratagems, the game would freeze.

The bug was quickly acknowledged by developers Arrowhead, who said a fix would be implemented soon. Yet, in the short term, it was advised not to use Arc Throwers, Arc Shotguns, and Tesla Tower stratagems.

Thankfully, the latest Helldivers 2 update is short and sweet. Dropping on March 26 and announced on the official @helldivers2 account on X (formerly Twitter) and on Steam, the Helldivers 2 1.000.104 Patch Notes read as follows:

• Fixes to the Arc based weapons

Game no longer freezes when firing arcs from the following weapons and stratagems

• Arc Thrower
• Arc Shotgun
• Tesla Tower

With close to half the Arc-based weapons causing the game to freeze it really affected your arsenal. These proved especially useful against the Automaton hordes. With the fix, it will be much easier to take down these enemies.
