How to Get the Fists of Fate (& the Best Builds for it)

The Fists of Fate is an interesting Unique item that works for all classes in Diablo 4. Colloquially referred to as the Gacha Gloves, this armor piece throws all caution to the wind and submits players to the unforgiving whims of RNG to (potentially) devastating effect.

Surprisingly, a Unique item that bases its entire concept around luck isn’t as novel as some players would think. Diablo 4 already has plenty of RNG-based combat mechanics, and the Fists of Fate doubles down on all of them. Here are some tips on how to get these gloves and some recommended builds that work best with them.

As of Diablo 4 Season of the Construct, these gloves have become even more effective with certain classes thanks to the buffs they received that boost their chances of scoring Lucky Hits.

All Uniques are primarily farmed through Nightmare Dungeons and Helltides, but Season of Blood also added the option to farm bosses for a shot at getting these items. For the Fists of Fate, players can try and get it by beating the Beast in Ice, a boss in the Lvl. 85 Glacial Fissure Dungeon directly west of Kyovashad. Keep in mind that Unique items only start dropping once players reach World Tier 3 and above.

To spawn the Beast in Ice, players must activate a Glacial Fissure Nightmare Sigil, which can be crafted at any Occultist using 9 Distilled Fear and 250 Sigil Powder. Distilled Fear is earned by completing Tier 30 Nightmare Dungeons and above, while Sigil Powder can be obtained by salvaging Nightmare Sigils.

A lower-level alternative to this is to farm Blind Burrows. This dungeon has a very high number of spiders inside, and these monsters have a higher chance of dropping gloves than other enemies. Farm the Nightmare version of this dungeon when possible to get an extra chance of getting the Fists of Fate after completing a run.

Keep in mind that spiders also have increased drop chances for chest pieces, foci, and 2H swords, which means the odds of getting a pair of gloves from killing them won’t be as high as many players think. On top of that, these monsters still drop other item types, so expect to do a lot of farming.

Lucky Hit: Up to a 10% chance to gain [1.5 – 31.5]%damage for 4 seconds.
Lucky Hit: Up to a 5% chance to gain [1.0 – 14.0]% of your primary resource back.
Lucky Hit: Up to a [1.5 – 16.5]% chance to Immobilize enemies on-hit.
Lucky Hit: Up to a [1.5 – 16.5]% chance to Daze enemies on-hit.
Unique Effect: Your Attacks randomly deal 1% or up [200-300]% damage

The Fists of Fate’s Lucky Hit proc rates differ per drop, and their minimum and maximum values depend on the item’s level. The values listed above represent an iLvl 725+ version of the gloves.

These Unique gloves are all about getting lucky. They have a chance of making Core Skills hit up to three times harder or reducing their damage to a measly 1%. This effect is not listed as a Lucky Hit effect, which implies proc coefficients do not matter.

With that being said, Fists of Fate work best with builds that have high attack speed or fast-hitting Core Skills like the Barbarian’s Whirlwind, the Rogue’s Rapid Fire, or the Sorcerer’s Ice Shards. By attacking quickly enough, players can take advantage of the 300% damage procs more often while making the 1% procs less noticeable.

However, players should still consider speccing into Lucky Hit Chance since the rest of the Fists of Fate’s affixes are all about Lucky Hit procs as well. Each effect can trigger independently of the others, so expect at least one to proc on a relatively consistent basis. This Unique shines best in long boss fights where the Lucky Hit procs have more chances to trigger.

Essentially, the Fists of Fate’s Uniqe damage bonus works as if the gloves have both Critical Strike Chance and Critical Strike Damage affixes, with the added drawback of making you occasionally hit like a wet noodle. The other major drawbacks of using these gloves are their lack of defensive stats and inability to provide additional ranks to Core Skills. Keep these limitations in mind when making a build around the Fists of Fate.
