The Finals Season 2 has begun and fans are largely happy with all of the new content added to the game. While all of the fresh gadgets and gizmos have been well received, the same unfortunately cannot be said for all of the new weapons. There is one new The Finals Season 2 weapon dubbed ‘awful’ by the community and it needs heavy buffs as soon as possible.

There is a new 5v5 mode called Power Shift, and there is also a new gameplay setting that fans should enable immediately. Of course, there’s also the fantastic addition of private matches, as well as a new Arena debuted by hackers, CNS.
All of the above-mentioned additions have been received very favorably by the community. There are also new weapons for the Light, Medium, and Heavy classes, but only two out of three are good as the slug shotgun for the Heavy is terrible.
New The Finals Season 2 KS-23 shotgun weapon needs buffs
The new Season 2 weapons introduced to The Finals are the 93R burst-fire machine pistol for Light, the FAMAS burst assault rifle for Medium, and the KS-23 slug shotgun for Heavy. Unfortunately, it’s the new Heavy class shotgun that has fans unhappy.
User Loud-Asparagus-4136 took to Reddit to describe the weapon as ‘awful‘ with the complaint that it feels ‘impossible to reliably hit anything that isn’t standing perfectly still with the projectile’. One user agreed stating that the ‘fire rate is too slow and the projectile speed is too slow‘.
The slowness is then capitulated even further by the inaccuracy of the weapon. On another Reddit thread about how horrible the KS-23 is right now, OP CroticNyxi listed the following problems with the gun:
- Long reload
- Long pump before next round fired
- Aggressive bullet falloff
- Outclassed in medium to long range by the Lewis Gun
- Outclassed in close to smooching range by the shotgun, sledge hammer and flamethrower
The Reddit OP says they want to see a patch that buffs its ‘damage pump speed or something’ because right now it has all debuffs. One fan replied it’s ‘such a stupidly balanced gun‘. As for what should be buffed, one fan disagrees with increasing the damage, but feels Embark Studios should heavily buff the accuracy and ‘faster trajectory per shell‘.
It has only just been introduced as a new weapon and issues with anything new are to be expected so it’s no slight against the developer. Hopefully, it does receive necessary buffs fairly soon as in its current state it’s massively underwhelming from all perspectives meaning speed, damage, and accuracy. Embark Studios are also implored to fix a weapon nerf fans have lambasted as ‘idiotic’.
